At your next Halloween party, do me a favor and stop tongue-kissing zombies and making excuses for drinking like a college freshman with something to prove– just for
a second– and take a picture of the crowd. Take a picture of the crowd, and look at that picture five years later. If you can remember the source of all the quirky
pop culture references your friends are wearing, I’m sorry I doubted you. However, if you’re squinting your eyes and wondering why every single woman is wearing
flesh-colored underwear and ten tiny ponytails and a giant foam finger, then you get what I’m talking about. Costumes based on memes, the weird shit celebrities do,
and cultural buzzwords? They can be funny, but they can also be… stupid. The Ice Bucket Challenge Costume is an example of the latter.
Even though I’m a fan of any novelty costume whose product description begins, “ALS or Lou Gehrig’s Disease is a serious illness that destroys nervous cells and
lives,” I’m still trying to wrap my mind around how this is a thing. Basically, for the very reasonable price of $39.99, you can be the proud owner of a clear rain
poncho with crudely drawn ice cubes all over it. And because drunk people love keeping track of props, you also get the pleasure of holding an ice cube tray in one
hand and a heavy bucket over your head with the other, for the entire night, lest people think you’re dressed up like a transparent tablecloth.

"One thing that I’ve learned is don’t bring your false lashes all the way to the end of your eyes because it will bring your eyes down," Bassett reveals.
The brunette beauty is up for best supporting actress as this year's Emmy Awards, and she plans to look her best at the star-studded event by following a simple diet plan.
"Cut the sugar, the alcohol and the bread, and eat a lot of protein and veggies," she explains.
Her plan is already paying off!
